Man arrested after 2 boys shot in SW Atlanta home

A man has been arrested after two boys were shot at a southwest Atlanta home Sunday night, according to officials.

James Kimbrough is accused of shooting the boys, ages 11 and 14, at a house on Omaha Road in the Arlington Estates neighborhood around 10:30 p.m., Atlanta police said. It was not clear if the children were the intended targets. Officials said only that the incident stemmed from a domestic situation but did not elaborate.

One of the victims was driven to a nearby Shell gas station on Campbellton Road for safety, authorities said. Both boys were described as alert and taken to a hospital. An update on their condition was not provided Tuesday morning.

Kimbrough was booked into the Fulton County jail on two counts of second-degree cruelty to children, reckless conduct and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
