A man found shot and killed in southwest Atlanta early Saturday apparently was targeted, police said. Shortly before 5 a.m., officers responded to the 2000 block of Old Hapeville Road, Atlanta police spokeswoman Lisa Bender said. A man about 26 years old was found inside a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds, according to Bender.
Surveillance video of the moments before an Uber Eats delivery driver allegedly shot and killed a customer in Buckhead was released Friday. A Norcross man ordered the brutal assault and rape of a woman while he was in prison, a member of the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office said Friday. Jose Carranza-Castro, 38, pleaded guilty Oct. 15 to planning the May 2017 attack on the woman. The victim was scalded with boiling water, shocked with a stun gun and raped by two male teens in front of one of her sons.
A man who kidnapped and raped two young women in Buckhead while posing as an Uber driver was sentenced Friday to life plus 60 years in prison, authorities said.

A body recovered from Lake Lanier last week has been identified as that of an Atlanta woman reported missing in July near the lake, authorities said. Madeline Sinagra, 31, was reported missing in Hall County on July 22 after she jumped off a boat into the lake to swim, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
A woman is in custody after two people were shot during an altercation at a motel in DeKalb County, police confirmed. The shooting happened Thursday afternoon at the Scottish Inn motel at 2565 Wesley Chapel Road, DeKalb police told AJC.com. A man and woman were shot and taken to a local hospital, police said. Their conditions were not provided.
After 27 years, an arrest has been made in the disappearance of a 19-year-old Macon woman. Melinda McSwain, 46, was arrested by the GBI’s Perry office and charged with kidnapping in connection to the Sabrina Long missing persons case. McSwain now lives in Broxton, located in Coffee County in southeast Georgia. Long was last seen Aug. 14, 1991, at a home in Macon.
The GBI is investigating an officer-involved shooting in southwest Georgia, the third such case the agency was involved in Thursday. About 7:45 p.m., Richland police conducted a road block on Ga. 520, the GBI said in a news release. Davion Omar Watson, 30, of Albany, drove up and stopped. An officer asked for Watson’s driver’s license, and he didn’t comply.
Update: Joseph Robert Proctor has been arrested in this case. The Chattanooga, Tennessee man was found by a Conyers police officer at a hotel on Oct. 18. Proctor tried to flee, but was apprehended by the officer. Proctor has multiple warrants for his arrest in jurisdictions in Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia. He is currently being held at Rockdale County Jail.

Three parents from Coweta County have been charged with reckless conduct after two babies were found in a room filled with marijuana smoke, authorities said. An Atlanta man is in jail on allegations he attacked a 94-year-old woman in her East Lake home, according to police records.
