Clayton County police have released the identity of a woman who was fatally stabbed in Riverdale Saturday.
Keteria Benton, 56, of Riverdale, was stabbed to death at a home in the 200 block of Valley Hill Road.
Police went to the home after a man called to report that he had stabbed his girlfriend. Police released no other detail about the incident on Sunday.
The man called police at 7:30 a.m. Saturday to report the stabbing, which occurred overnight, according to Channel 2 Action News.
When officers arrived at the home, in the 200 block of Valley Hill Road, they said they found a woman dead inside. Channel 2 reported the man at the house had a gunshot wound to his hand. He was taken to a local hospital.
Police said they had not had any recent altercations at the house but told Channel 2 Action News they had been called to a domestic incident there in February 2014.
