Two guns found in two days at Gwinnett County middle school

School officials confirmed a criminal investigation is currently underway into the situation.

For the second time in two days, a gun was found at Shiloh Middle School in Gwinnett County. Investigators believe the same student brought both weapons to school.

Principal Eli Welch told parents the student who was found with a gun Monday gave a second gun to another student, and that student placed the gun somewhere on campus, Channel 2 Action News reported. The gun was not in a building, but details about where it was found were not released.

The two students are facing criminal charges and disciplinary action, school leaders said. Some parents told Channel 2 they are concerned about sending students to school.

"My kid won't be at school tomorrow," Kaitlin Chancer, whose son attends the school, said Tuesday night. “I don’t want to sit here and worry that there’s a gun at school every day now.”
