Two teenagers were arrested Wednesday after they burglarized a Woodstock home for the second time that day, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Jarrell Bankston, 18, and a 16-year-old, both of Woodstock, were caught entering a home on Braddock Circle by a neighbor, Cherokee County sheriff’s spokesman Jay Baker said in the release.

The two had burglarized the home earlier that day, Baker said, but were attempting to re-enter it when the neighbor spotted them. They ran when deputies arrived but were arrested a short time later, Baker said.

A backpack, believed to be taken from the home, two knives, a small amount of marijuana, drug-related objects and clothing were recovered by deputies.

Bankston remains in the Cherokee County Jail on a $21,449 bond. The 16-year-old was taken to the Regional Youth Detention Center in Marietta.

They each face charges of burglary, theft by taking, criminal attempt to commit burglary, possession of tools to commit a crime, possession of a weapon in the commission of a crime, obstruction of an officer, possession of marijuana less than an ounce and possession of drug-related objects.
