Shotgun-wielding carjacker arrested in Kennesaw, police say

The family says they are thankful he's in jail.

Police said they arrested a shotgun-wielding carjacker in Cobb County on Saturday night.

Christopher Martin, 35, allegedly used a stolen Jaguar to knock out one Acworth neighborhood’s power before brandishing a sawed-off shotgun to steal another man’s car, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Police told Channel 2 he backed the stolen car into a power box on Arbor View Parkway, which knocked out power to part of the neighborhood.

He then allegedly drove to Rockstone Way and carjacked a father and son who were pet sitting, police said.

Police said Martin crashed into a Cobb County police car about an hour later in Kennesaw, Channel 2 reported.

He faces multiple charges, including fleeing a police officer, weapons and carjacking, the news station reported.

He was already wanted out of South Carolina and is being held in the Cobb jail without bond, Channel 2 reported.
