For two days, Santavious Jerome Hurley went on a violent crime spree, killing one man and injuring three others.
On Wednesday, Hurley pleaded guilty to the crimes during a pre-trial hearing, the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office said in a news release. His case was scheduled to go to trial next week.
Authorities said Hurley began his 48-hour crime spree April 11, 2017, when he approached two men waiting for an Uber ride and held them at gunpoint.

Hurley demanded the victims take off their pants and hand over their belongings, which included their wallets and several electronics, DeKalb officials said. He then fired multiple shots at the men before leaving in a stolen SUV.
Police found the vehicle abandoned a short distance away. The victims’ belongings and a handgun were still inside it.
Roughly two hours later, officials said Hurley shot and killed Joseph Brown, 39, outside a Decatur motel after an argument.
“Witnesses reported seeing (Hurley) waving a gun and making threats before firing several shots at the victim, striking him in the chest and fatally wounding him,” DeKalb district attorney spokeswoman Yvette Jones said in the release.
The next day, Hurley, armed with two guns, approached a group of people gathered outside a Bouldercrest Drive home and told them to “give it up,” according to the release.
Hurley then fought and shot a fourth victim, Will Harris, who grabbed Hurley’s gun and shot the man, injuring him. Harris was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.
Hurley managed to escape in a getaway car allegedly driven by Roshun Allen, but he wasn’t out of sight for long. Harris spotted Hurley in the hospital being treated for injuries.
Hurley was arrested nearly a week after the shooting, according to jail records.
A judge sentenced Hurley to life in prison. A bench warrant has been issued for Allen.
