Conyers police have arrested a New Jersey man after they said they found “indications of human trafficking” involving a 20-year-old woman in a hotel room.

Brad Gaskins, 36, is charged with trafficking of a person for sexual servitude and aggravated sodomy, police Sgt. Buck Vaughn said.

The woman, from Washington state, had recently moved to the area, met Gaskins in DeKalb County, and he offered her a place to stay, police said.

“For the next two weeks,” Vaughn said, “the victim remained at a hotel room that was provided to her by Gaskins in exchange for answering calls from an ad for sexual services that Gaskins created for her.”

Officers found the signs of human trafficking when they went to the room at an extended stay hotel on a wellness check. A friend of the woman made the request, police said.

Gaskins returned to the room several hours later and was arrested.
