Authorities are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the “ambush style” shooting death of a Newton County teenager.
Quinton Keyvon Martin was shot Oct. 24 after he returned home from his shift at a local Zaxby’s.
He “was shot while exiting his vehicle in an ambush style attack,” sheriff’s Sgt. Michael Cunningham said in a statement. “It is believed that he was followed by another vehicle from the Zaxby’s parking lot, located at 12945 Brown Bridge Road.”
Martin’s father, Roddrick Foster, thinks his son was not the intended target.
Martin got a ride home from his manager, according to his father. They had just pulled onto Greenway Drive when both were shot. His boss, who was not identified, was treated for her wounds.
Martin was an honor student at Alcovy High School who took the job at Zaxby’s to save enough money to buy his own car, Channel 2 Action News reported.
