Police have identified two men who allegedly pistol-whipped a Johns Creek woman and her housekeeper during a violent home invasion.

Kenneth Hayes, 28, and Andraus Betts, 23, were arrested in southwest Atlanta late Tuesday, hours after police said they attacked the women, made demands and stole items from the home.

Atlanta police charged Hayes and Betts with theft by receiving stolen property and willful obstruction of a law enforcement officer, Fulton County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Tracy Flanagan said. It is not known if additional charges will be filed.

Hayes and Betts were found at the Hidden Oaks apartment complex in the 2900 block of Springdale Road. They were in a white Mercedes-Benz that was stolen from the Johns Creek home, officials said.

“Items taken in the robbery were still in their possession,” Johns Creek police Capt. Chris Byers said Wednesday.

About 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, authorities said Hayes and Betts broke into a home in the 5000 block of Chelsen Woods Drive and held the woman and the housekeeper at gunpoint for about 45 minutes.

“(They were) asking for money, asking where the safe was and things like that,” Byers said. “At some point during the altercation, the two females were hit by the assailants. They were struck in the head with their weapons.”

The home may have been targeted, according to Channel 2 Action News. The women, who positively identified Hayes and Betts from a photo lineup, do not have life-threatening injuries.

Hayes and Betts will have a preliminary hearing Aug. 31.

Police have not said if the Johns Creek home invasion is connected to a Smyrna home invasion that also occurred Tuesday. In that incident, a man was tied up and beaten inside a home on Vinings Oak Drive, police said.
