Person of interest ID’d in October murder case

Nearly three months after a man was found dead in a wooded area in Dunwoody, police have identified a person of interest in the case.

Jose Alfredo Chavarria, also known as Don Jose, is wanted in connection with the Oct. 4 death of 27-year-old Agustin Contreras Pulido, Dunwoody police said Thursday in a Facebook post.

Pulido’s body was found in the 4600 block of Peachtree Place Parkway, police said.

Authorities have not specified how Chavarria may be associated with the case, which is described as a murder investigation.

Chavarria, 50, is 5-foot-7, 210 pounds, with brown eyes and gray hair, according to police. His last known vehicle may have been a blue Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck.

Details on Pulido’s death have not been released.
