Woman wanted after hit-and-run that killed man walking dog in Barrow County

Authorities are searching for a woman accused in a hit-and-run that killed a man walking his dog Monday morning in Barrow County.

Sandy Wilson, 42, of Winder, has active warrants for first-degree vehicular homicide, felony hit-and-run, reckless driving, failure to report an accident, driving too fast for conditions, failure to maintain lane, driving on the wrong side of the road and cruelty to animals, the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

She’s accused of hitting Marvin Barnes, 66, of Statham, while he was walking his dog about 6 feet back from Jefferson Road, AJC.com previously reported. Barnes and the dog were both killed.

Deputies found Wilson’s Silver Infiniti G37 shortly afterward, but her location is still unknown.
