DeKalb County police are investigating after a man boarded a MARTA bus with a gunshot wound to the leg, the spokeswoman for the agency said.

The unidentified man got on bus No. 1412 just after 6 a.m. Friday at Glenwood Avenue and Candler Road and said he had been shot, Stephany Fisher told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The bus operator called MARTA police, and the man was taken to the hospital.

His condition is unknown at this time.

Although the operator was pulled from service as a standard operating procedure, the bus route has resumed normal operations, Fisher said.
