A man has been jailed after authorities said he impersonated an officer.

Cherokee County deputies recently heard someone on radio giving false information about calls for service and using noise to disrupt normal radio traffic, Sgt. Marianne Kelley said in a news release.

Investigators identified Jonathan Beavers, 29, of Canton, and found evidence at his residence during a search, Kelley said.

Beavers is charged with impersonating an officer, four counts of harassing communications and two counts of obstruction of an officer, according to Kelley. He’s in the Cherokee County jail without bond.
