The murder of Cassandra Bryant was the subject of the eighth episode of the TV One true-crime series "ATL Homicide." Bryant's body was discovered near a dumpster outside an apartment building on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in October 2003.

"ATL Homicide" recreates cases as told by David Quinn and Vince Velazquez, two retired Atlanta Police Department homicide detectives. Quinn has called the show "like an APD greatest hits LP for us."

Law & Order briefs: Atlanta: Man arrested in woman's slaying 

Atlanta police arrested a man on a murder charge Thursday. Willie Mizell, 46, was charged in the death of Cassandra Bryant, 42, whose body was discovered Wednesday outside an apartment in the 1900 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Mizell is being held at the Fulton County Jail.

Atlanta briefs: Court reinstates man's murder conviction 

The Georgia Supreme Court on Monday reinstated the murder conviction against a man charged in the beating death of a woman in October 2003.

The court overturned a ruling by a judge who had granted Willie Mizell a new trial for the killing of 42-year-old Cassandra Bryant, whose body was found near a dumpster close to Mizell's apartment. —Bill Rankin
