Gwinnett police searching for Florida man who has been missing for 11 days

The man??€™s family members have received a few texts from his phone, but they wonder if someone else is doing the typing.

Police are searching for a Florida man who has been missing for almost two weeks after traveling to Gwinnett County for a job interview, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Jon Green, 25, of Jacksonville, came to Loganville earlier this month. His family told Channel 2 that he spoke with his grandparents via FaceTime from a hotel room to say he made it to metro Atlanta on May 10.

The last thing Green told his mother, who lives in Gwinnett County, was he was going to surprise his little sister at her softball game. He never made it.

“I just want my child back, just give him back,” Tiffiny Green, Jon’s mother, told Channel 2. “Because I know he’s still alive, just give him back, please.”

Gwinnett County police have assigned a detective to look into the case, the news station reported.

The family told Channel 2 they’ve received a few texts from Green’s phone, but they think someone else typed them.

“It was from his phone, but we don’t know if it was from him,” Carl Bright, Green’s grandfather, told Channel 2. “Some of the language didn’t sound like it was from him.”

His mother told Channel 2 that some of Green’s checks have been cashed after he disappeared. She said video footage from a Ponce de Leon Avenue store, where some of his checks were cashed, shows a person who isn’t Green cashing them.
