Bradley Frietas was found dead at Georgia Southern University.

The GBI is investigating the death of a college student from metro Atlanta, according to a report.

Bradley Frietas, 22, a Decatur High School graduate, was found in a student housing center at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, according to WSAV-TV of Savannah.

The GBI was called to the scene just after 9 p.m. March 1 by university police to assist with a wellness check on Frietas, the station reported. The Bulloch County Coroner’s Office and emergency medical workers also responded.

Frietas was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report.

The GBI was to perform an autopsy at its crime lab in Savannah. The results were not available, and officials couldn’t be reached about the situation.

Frietas was remembered fondly by other students.

Lindsay Futch, a senior, shared her thoughts about when she and Frietas attended Decatur High.

"Bradley was someone who was friends with everyone and was just so sweet and was there for you if you needed him," Futch told the George-Anne, the GSU student newspaper. "And I say that he was friends with everyone because we all knew how funny and smart and sweet he was."
