An Alpharetta man was arrested after he threatened a University of North Georgia professor if they did not resign, the GBI said in a statement.

Jose Gomez, 23, was arrested at his home Saturday on terrorist threats charges, GBI assistant special agent Mile Walsingham said.

North Georgia police requested the GBI to assist with the investigation.
