A murder suspect who was released on bond after a deadly shooting in south Fulton County was put back behind bars Friday, the district attorney said.
Dexter Hubbard, 19, was charged with murder, burglary and home invasion after he was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals, authorities said.
Police said Hubbard shot and killed Soloman Williams, 58, on Aug. 7 as Williams changed the locks on his home on Gossamer Street. Williams’ wife and children were inside at the time.
“Dexter Hubbard was captured by the U.S. Marshals Service last night, and he is currently in the Fulton County jail,” District Attorney Paul Howard Jr. said in a statement Saturday. “My office has personally notified (victim) Soloman Williams' wife, Louisa Williams of Hubbard's capture.”
Hubbard surrendered Aug. 11 at the Fulton County jail and was held there until a judge granted him bond, authorities said. He was released Sept. 27 after he posted $155,000 bond.
Fulton County Chief Magistrate Judge Cassandra Kirk told Channel 2 Action News that Hubbard wasn’t indicted in the case and was therefore released.
Howard said earlier the state did not give him enough time to bring an indictment.
