A 17-year-old boy was found shot to death outside his Roswell apartment early Tuesday. But no details have been released yet on what led to the shooting and who was responsible.

It was the sound of gunshots that prompted a resident of the Nesbit Ferry Crossing Apartments to call 911 just before 1:30 a.m., according to Officer Lisa Holland with Roswell Police. By the time officers arrived at the Saratoga Drive complex, the teenager was dead from his injuries.

On the ground behind building 15, investigators found the body of Kobe Latrell Williams, who lived in the complex, Holland said.

By Tuesday evening, police had not released information on the circumstances that may have led to the shooting nor identified a possible suspect. In a written press release, Holland called the case a death investigation.

Williams previously attended Centennial High School, but was not currently enrolled, according to Susan Hale, a spokeswoman for the Fulton County school system. The teenager did have an extended family member at the school and several friends, Hale said.

“A crisis team was dispatched to the school immediately upon the news of his death and they were in place before school started,” Hale said.

Investigators remained at the Roswell complex for several hours Tuesday speaking to residents and searching for any potential witnesses.

Tuesday morning's shooting death came six months after two teenagers were shot to death behind a Roswell grocery store. In an unrelated incident, Jeffrey Hazelwood allegedly shot and killed Natalie Anne Henderson and Carter J. Davis behind a Publix. Hazelwood, who has been indicted with two counts of murder, remained without bond Tuesday in the Fulton County jail.
