An alleged armed robber was shot and killed by a customer at a Villa Rica Waffle House, authorities said.

A man described by police as the getaway driver faces a murder charge after his alleged accomplice was shot and killed by a customer while he was attempting to rob a Waffle House in Villa Rica.

Terrell Lovon Bailey, 41, of Carrollton, faces murder, aggravated assault and criminal attempt to commit armed robbery charges for his alleged involvement Thursday in the robbery on Ga. 61, Villa Rica police said in a news release.

Police said Adrian Wordlow, 28, of Bowdon, entered the restaurant around 12:30 a.m., pointed a BB gun at the employees and said it was a robbery, AJC.com previously reported.

A customer then shot Wordlow, and he was allegedly driven away by Bailey in a small, dark-colored vehicle, the release said.

Wordlow’s body was found next to the vehicle on Brown Street in Carrollton about seven hours later, Villa Rica police Capt. Keith Shaddix told AJC.com.

The release said the customer will not face charges since “he was justified in the use of force based on Wordlow’s actions in the crime of armed robbery.”
