2 in custody for deadly double shooting at DeKalb gas station

Authorities are investigating a deadly double shooting at a DeKalb County gas station.

One person is dead after a double shooting Wednesday at a DeKalb County gas station near Stone Mountain, police said.

About 1:15 p.m., police were called to the intersection of North Hairston Road and Central Drive regarding the shooting, DeKalb police spokeswoman Shiera Campbell told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Police found the body at the Quick Stop Food Mart in the 1100 block of North Hairston Road.

The other victim was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries, Campbell said.

Police are still investigating what led to the shooting, but two people are in custody, Campbell said.

“It’s a really large crime scene and we’re trying to gather evidence, witnesses and any possible surveillance footage,” Campbell said.

Police also received 911 calls from nearby Chevron and Citgo stations, which are also taped off.

Authorities don’t know what the victims’ involvement, if any, was in the shooting.
