Postell has been charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm, according to Cobb County jail records. He’s being held without bond.

About 12:40 a.m., Postell fired “after an altercation broke out” that involved Koen, “where multiple subjects started shooting,” according to the warrant.

Koen had multiple gunshot wounds, authorities said, and died from his injuries.

The party, which was in the 4600 block of Hunter Road, was described as a “coming home” gathering for a friend in the military, relatives told Channel 2 Action News.

Koen was working on his GED so he could enlist in the Navy, Channel 2 reported.
