Federal drug agents seized about 300 pounds of methamphetamine Thursday from a Coweta County residence that also contained two suspected meth labs, documents show.
A man who told agents he was in the United States illegally was arrested during the bust, according to a federal complaint.
At the house in the 200 block of Shell Road in the Palmetto area, Drug Enforcement Administration agents found about 6 pounds of meth in a bedroom, “a small conversion lab that contained liquid methamphetamine in an unfinished state” in another bedroom as well as more than 4 pounds of suspected meth, documents show.
A large conversion lab where solid meth is converted into larger pieces and about 286 pounds of suspected meth were discovered in a building in the back of the residence, according to records.
The documents indicate authorities found guns and about six kilograms of meth in a truck at the residence. Guns were in the house, too.
Ramiro Hermosillo Salazar was arrested on drug trafficking and firearms charges, according to the complaint. He told agents he had been living at the residence for about a year.
He was taken to jail after his arrest.
