A former kennel employee believed to have abused a dog in Brookhaven was arrested Monday, about a month after the alleged assault, police said.

Authorities had been searching for Terrill Rayshon Baugh, 29, of Forest Park, who faces an animal cruelty charge stemming from an incident at the Bark and Board, Brookhaven police said last month.

The dog’s owner, Rachel Mundy, said she saw Baugh hitting her dog, Ava, on the kennel’s web camera and posted the video on Facebook, Channel 2 Action News reported. The kennel owners saw the video and immediately fired Baugh.

Video appears to show Baugh kneeing the Husky mix in the throat and possibly knocking its head into a wall.

“I was like, ‘This is going too far. This is not OK,’” Mundy told the news station. “I had to leave work to go pick her up because I couldn’t leave her there for the whole weekend to be treated like that.”

Baugh is being held at the DeKalb County jail.
