Q: I have a vintage Tissot Sideral sports watch from the late 70s that is in fair-to-good condition. I see on eBay that this watch has a very high selling point in perfect condition. I would like to find a local watch appraiser who may be interested in buying it. I have tried many online sites and some local jewelers, but no one is interested in appraising this. What can I do? Thank you. Leslie O’Neill, Marietta

A: Leslie, I'm by no means a watch expert, however, I do know that a lot of the jewelry we've held onto holds more sentimental value than monetary. However, I happen to have the ideal place for you to take your treasure where you can feel confident that it will get a fair and accurate appraisal. Speak with Joe Ellis at Silver Dollar Pawn, 11680 Alpharetta Highway, Roswell, 678-264-8899. Ellis and his family have been in the pawn and jewelry business for nearly 50 years, and when you push through the doors, you'll swear you've entered a high-end jewelry store, so don't let the fact that it's also a pawn shop deter you.

Q: As a young woman, I used to drink bitter lemon over ice. I believe it was made by Schweppes. Suddenly, it disappeared. I would love it if you could find it for me somewhere in Atlanta. I would order it online if I have to, but would prefer not to because of the high shipping cost. Thank you. Cindy Acker, Powder Springs

A: Cindy, you won't have to order your bittersweet beverage online. You can find it at Taste of Britain, 73 S. Peachtree St., Norcross, 770-242-8585. Schweppes Bitter Lemon in the mini can, 150 ml, sells for $1.50 each. Occasionally, the store stocks the larger one liter size.

Q: This is probably a lost cause, but I have childhood memories of Aunt Jemima buckwheat pancake mix, and if doesn’t exist anymore, is there anything similar? Carol Ann Burnham, email

A: Unfortunately, Quaker discontinued its buckwheat pancake mix about 10 years ago, but I found two options for you. If you'd like to try another brand, then consider Hodgson Mill old fashioned buckwheat pancake mix made with stone-ground whole grain buckwheat flour, whole wheat flour, baking soda, dextrose and salt. Add milk, eggs and a bit of oil to the mix to create healthy pancakes and waffles. You'll find a 32-ounce package for $4.49 at Publix, 3435 Ashford Dunwoody Road, Brookhaven, 770-216-5050.

Fans of your favorite Aunt Jemima buckwheat pancake mix were clamoring for a substitution after production stopped, and Quaker provided the following recipe to which you add dark buckwheat flour and baking powder to Aunt Jemima Original pancake mix.

Buckwheat pancakes

3/4 cup Aunt Jemima Original pancake mix

1/3 cup buckwheat flour (purchase dark flour)

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Stir dry ingredients together and add milk and egg as per package instructions.
