Aunt-niece duo win Kent Bazemore’s UNO Tournament

An aunt-niece duo won Kent Bazemore’s third annual celebrity UNO and golf tournament Saturday night to benefit his ARMS Foundation.

After several rounds of UNO, Jessica Woghiren and her 8-year-old niece, Success Lawani, were victorious.

“It was a lot of fun and I never thought we would win the tournament,” said Jessica Woghiren, an attorney who lives in Gwinnett County.

The Hawks guard will also hold a golf tournament fundraiser Monday.

The ARMS Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit with its mission statement “to promote, motivate and inspire any young child who aspires to be part of the next generation of leaders.”

Here’s Bazemore explaining the rules:

The UNO tournament was held at Westside Culture Center in Atlanta. The event, which featured food, drinks and entertainment, was open to the public.

Last year, I entered my daughter Isabel (who loves the game of Uno) in the tournament. At 10 years old, she was the youngest competitor -- and she won the tournament. This year, Isabel, now 11,  lost after three rounds, but still had a  blast.
