Because of that, the Bulldogs stayed at N o. 6 in the Coaches Poll heading into week 9.

Auburn had few problems in a 40-17 blowout win over Georgia three weeks ago. The rematch could be closer, but the Tigers remained favored. Georgia is a 2.5-point underdog in the SEC championship, per OddShark.com. The Bulldogs were favored by that same amount prior to the first Auburn game.
Kirby Smart doesn’t need a hero at quarterback this Saturday. After getting stomped by Auburn 40-17 in the last meeting, much has been made of the adjustments UGA must make to upset the Tigers in the SEC championship.
The Bulldogs will have an opportunity to avenge their dreadful 40-17 loss to Auburn this Saturday in Atlanta. The longtime rivals will meet for the 122nd time, this occasion for the SEC championship. UGA holds the 57-56-8 all-time edge. Georgia has faced an opponent twice only four times in its history: The Bulldogs lost to North Carolina twice in Atlanta in 1895.
Six years ago, there were plenty of people who didn’t want to see Alabama get another shot at LSU — this time for a championship. Kirby Smart couldn’t concern himself with that. He just had to find a way to flip the result. Smart was the defensive coordinator at Alabama, which had lost to LSU in an epic, some would call ugly, 9-6 game.
Lorenzo Carter has payback on the mind. The senior linebacker passed on the NFL draft after last season for a multitude of reasons, including his record against Georgia Tech. Carter is 1-2 against the Yellow Jackets, with a chance to pull even this Saturday in Atlanta. “That was one of the things I thought about personally that I needed to do,” Carter said.
Whether it’s an effort to end a losing streak, just a comfort thing, or something else, Georgia is making a change for this year’s game against Florida. Georgia will not be wearing red jerseys, as it has the previous three years against Florida, which wore its blue jerseys those years. The Bulldogs are instead going back to wearing white.
Georgia is ranked No. 3. Florida is unranked. Georgia is favored by two touchdowns. Florida is riddled with injuries. Would a Gators win in Jacksonville on Saturday be the biggest upset in the history of the Georgia-Florida series? Perhaps, but it’s certainly worth noting amid the buildup to the game that this is a rivalry known over the decades for stunning upsets.

Before Dominick Blaylock was a 5-star Marietta high schooler and No. 2 wide receiver of the 2019 class, he was a son. But not just anyone’s son.
