ROSWELL

Butterfly Festival

Behold the beauty of the butterflies as they fill the air at the Chattahoochee Nature Center. Walk through an exhibit filled with hundreds of different types of the fluttering creatures, grab a plant to attract some in your own backyard and get a few tips on how to capture them on film from the Georgia Nature Photographers Association. Twice a day on June 3 and 4, the center will release live butterflies out into the wild, filling the air with tiny, flapping wings. In addition to the colorful main attraction, the festivities will include snacks from on-site food trucks, live music, sidewalk art and fairy houses.

10 a.m.-3 p.m. June 3; noon-5 p.m. June 4. $12; $8 for center members; free for kids younger than 2. Chattahoochee Nature Center, 9135 Willeo Road, Roswell. 770-992-2055, chattnaturecenter.org.

WILLIAMSON

Vintage Day

Step into the 1920s this weekend at Candler Field Museum’s annual Vintage Day. For the 11th year in a row, visitors can get a peek inside vintage cars, fill up on food made from old-fashioned recipes and enjoy the sounds of bluegrass and more from bygone eras. At 1 p.m., check out the parade of flight that features an array of antique airplanes and learn a bit about each one as an announcer explains their historical significances. If you bring the kiddies, be sure they’re outside at 3:45 p.m. to catch a few sweets as a plane drops candy bars attached to tiny parachutes over the field.

10 a.m.-4 p.m. June 3. $10 per car. Peach State Aerodrome, 349 Jonathan’s Roost Road, Williamson. 770-467-8318, peachstateaero.com.
