FRIDAY

Tenth Avenue North

“Cathedrals,” the fourth studio album from the Christian rockers, was born of a desire to inspire community and encourage accountability. That the Florida-grown quintet manages to do that with exceptional melodies and tunefulness could be one reason for their growing popularity. Tenth Avenue North — named for a road in Palm Beach County — recently wrapped a tour with Atlanta-based Chris Tomlin and is headlining this All the Earth is Holy Ground outing.

With Sidewalk Prophets and Dan Bremnes. 7 p.m. Nov. 6. $25. Variety Playhouse, 1099 Euclid Ave. N.E., Atlanta. 1-800-745-3000, ticketmaster.com.

Farm Rock Atlanta

Lock up your daughters and hide the Aqua Net — it’s a hair metal fiesta at the North Atlanta Trade Center this weekend. An impressive lineup of some of the most hit-worthy names of the ’80s hard rock movement will convene for a weekend of guitar-crunching fun. Great White, Slaughter, Kix, Kip Winger, Mycah and Veilside anchor the Friday night kickoff, with Night Ranger, Tom Keifer (of Cinderella), Warrant, L.A. Guns, Lynch Mob, Autograph, Britney Fox, Femme Fatale, Kickin’ Valentina, the Fifth, Filthy Rebel and 3 Parts Dead turning it up to 11 all day and night Saturday.

6 p.m. Nov. 6, noon Nov. 7. $25-$140. North Atlanta Trade Center, 1700 Jeurgens Court, Norcross. 770-279-9899, fratlanta15.bpt.me.

SATURDAY

Tim McGraw

As he closes in on 50, McGraw can still rock a cowboy hat and tight pair of jeans. He’s also still a chart staple, having sold more than 40 million albums since 1993. He and his Rascal Flatts buddies will share the spotlight with Chris Janson and Chase Bryant for the Kicks 101.5 Country Fair, where McGraw is sure to unfurl fan favorites, including “Truck Yeah,” “Indian Outlaw” and the ever-inspirational “Live Like You Were Dying.”

With Rascal Flatts, Chris Janson and Chase Bryant. 5 p.m. Nov. 7. $29-$125. Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park, 2200 Encore Parkway, Alpharetta. 1-800-745-3000, ticketmaster.com.

WEDNESDAY

Grimes

The 20-something Canadian electro-pop artist has cultivated a cult following since releasing her debut album, “Geidi Primes,” in 2010. But it was 2012’s breakthrough “Visions” that garnered mainstream recognition for her atypical melding of vocals with musical elements ranging from pop to electronica to hip-hop to R&B. After touring with Lana Del Ray this summer, Grimes is poised to release her next album, “Art Angels,” Friday in digital format and Dec. 11 in good ol’ physical form.

With Nicole Dollangager. 8 p.m. Nov. 11. $27 (advance), $30 (day of the show). Buckhead Theatre, 3110 Roswell Road, Atlanta. 1-800-745-3000, ticketmaster.com.

THURSDAY

Kem

It’s been a busy year for the R&B-soul singer from Detroit: a sold-out spring tour with Charlie Wilson, a No. 1 R&B album with “Promise to Love,” and — most importantly for the man born Kim Owens — a celebration of 25 years of sobriety. Kem will share the smooth sounds of such hits as “Love Calls,” “I Can’t Stop Loving You,” “It’s You” and the title track of “Promise to Love” (are you sensing a theme here?) when he and singer Tamar Braxton (host of “The Real”) visit the Fox.

With Tamar Braxton. 7:30 p.m. Nov. 12. $36-$131.50. Fox Theatre, 660 Peachtree St. N.E., Atlanta. 1-855-285-8499, foxtheatre.org.
