Grumpy Cat, the cat with the perpetual frown made famous by the internet, received two honors recently, but she didn’t seem all that impressed by the attention.
First, Grumpy Cat went to visit her wax replica at Madame Tussauds in Washington, D.C. While at the museum, she posed for photos with replicas of famous political figures, including Ronald Reagan and John F. Kennedy.
Next, Grumpy Cat was the guest of honor at a performance of “Cats” on Broadway. The crowd cheered as the diminutive feline made an appearance during the curtain call, according to Reuters.
Grumpy Cat rose to internet stardom in 2012. The cat’s real name is Tardar Sauce, and her owner says she has feline dwarfism. In spite of her sourpuss expression, she’s a loving, easygoing pet, according to her owner. Grumpy Cat’s image has been used in countless memes and has inspired books, toys and a TV movie.
