Now that summer is here in full blast, we bet you have a few secret go-to frozen treats to help beat the heat.

Last week's Best of Atlanta poll was inspired by all things cool and tasty.

Coming in first place, write-in nominee Berens Frozen Custard in Gwinnett has been making mouth-watering and taste-tempting flavors since 1976. All of their frozen custards are made fresh in-store several times throughout the day. Depending on your timing, you might even see the frozen custard being produced and churned fresh right out of the machines.

With the second highest amount of votes, it's fair to say that Butter & Cream Ice Cream in Decatur has one of Atlanta's favorite frozen treats and ice cream in town. As a small batch ice cream purveyor, they feature homemade ice cream, sorbet and sweet treats all made from scratch with the freshest of ingredients. Is your mouth watering yet? It should be.

In third, the folks at Queen of Cream take ice cream very, very seriously. Sourcing their dairy locally, and using fresh, real ingredients for flavors, they are able to create some of the best ice cream around.

If you are a true ice cream lover, then you probably just can't get enough. Our other official nominees are also obsess-worthy: Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream (Intown), Honeysuckle Gelato (Intown), Sarah Jean's Ice Cream (Cobb), Four Fat Cows (North Fulton) and Fahrenheit Ice Cream (Gwinnett).

Do you prefer a creamy ice cream, decadent sundae, tangy sorbet or creative popsicle? Lucky for you, all of these can be found in just a short drive.
