Customer service technology company TTEC announced Wednesday it plans to expand to Gwinnett County, bringing 500 new jobs and $2 million in investment to the area.

TTEC, which is headquartered in Colorado and has locations all over the world, will open a customer service center in an existing 31,000-square-foot facility on Breckinridge Boulevard in Duluth, according to a press release from Partnership Gwinnett.

Martin DeGhetto, TTEC’s Chief Operating Officer, said the Atlanta area’s strong labor force was one of the primary reasons TTEC opted to enter the region.

The move was backed by multiple Georgia groups, including the state government, the Atlanta Regional Commission, Gwinnett Technical College and Partnership Gwinnett, a public-private initiative with a focus on bringing new jobs and investment to Gwinnett County.

“To have a leading company like TTEC choose to expand their operations in Gwinnett County, is a testament to our robust business climate,” Megan Wing, Technology and Life Sciences Project Manager for Partnership Gwinnett, said in a statement.

TTEC employs more than 50,000 people worldwide, and claims $4 billion in annual sales.

Gwinnett County has seen high population growth in recent years, outpacing the overall growth rate of the metro area. The county's population is 920,000, according to census data from 2017, a 14.3 percent increase from its 2010 population.
