These metro Atlanta companies are making big hires this April

If you're looking for a job, Honeywell and UPS are two of the companies looking to add to its Atlanta workforce this April. Check out this brief snapshot of area companies and schools that are hiring scores of employees:

Honeywell

Honeywell is making the transition from a traditional industrial company to a digital industrial business that's investing heavily in software development and the Internet of things – networked communication through the cloud of machines and sensors.

The company has about 132,000 employees worldwide, including many engineers and scientists. It has chosen Midtown Atlanta to serve as its new software home and as the headquarters of its home and building technologies business.

Honeywell currently has many jobs open in Atlanta, with positions for data scientists, software engineers and software developers. Jobs can be viewed and applied for online.

World Services

Based in Atlanta, World Services provides interpretation and translation services as well as home health services. Interpreters must be qualified native speakers with experience in professional interpretation, have an undergraduate or graduate degree in the language, be certified in court interpreting or pass a language screening.

Job openings in April include positions for interpreters, translators, business developers, care coordinators, triage coordinators and receptionists.

Rockdale County Public Schools

Hiring for summer school teachers as well as jobs for the 2017-18 school year ramps up this time of year, and Rockdale County Public Schools is hosting a job fair for teaching candidates.

The event will be held on April 22 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Rockdale Career Academy on 1064 Culpepper Drive in Conyers. All 22 Rockdale public schools will be represented, and you can pre-register for the event at here.

UPS

When you think of jobs at UPS, you probably think of people who deliver packages in the company's iconic brown trucks. The Atlanta-based company certainly has a large number of drivers, but it also has plenty of other career paths.

UPS has job openings in Atlanta that include a customer communications supervisor, warehouse associate, data analyst, project engineer, marketing strategy manager and a car washer to help keep the vehicle fleet clean.
