Employees at Costco Wholesale are the most satisfied when it comes to compensation and benefits, according to a new analysis from jobs site Indeed.com.

Indeed’s team of data scientists evaluated their database of more than 18 million employer reviewers to identify the top 15 companies with the best salary and benefits packages. Great benefits, according to the site, include health care, dental care, parental leave, sock options and company matching for retirement plans.

Costco, the Washington-based warehouse popular for its discounted items sold in bulk, earned the highest honors.

The retailer is known for paying its employees a living wage and in 2016, Costco raised its minimum wage for employees to $13.50. That’s higher than the federal minimum wage of $7.25 — and Washington’s, which is $11.50.

“Costco demonstrates that despite all the gloomy headlines we see about the ‘retail apocalypse’ some companies in the sector are continuing to perform strongly and motivate employees,” Indeed reported.

“They have a graduated wage program that’s based purely on total hours worked. Show up, do your job, and your pay goes up on its own,” one employee said.

Rounding out the top three on Indeed's list are California-based Kaiser Permanente and New York-based Verizon, both known for paying their employees some of the highest wages in their respective industries.
