Delta Air Lines has canceled hundreds of flights over the last few days due to storms that hit the Midwest over the weekend and New York on Monday.
Atlanta-based Delta said it expected to cancel more than 150 flights throughout the day Monday due to thunderstorms with heavy rain and wind in the New York area.
The airline waived certain change fees for passengers with flights booked to, from or through the New York area Sunday or Monday who could change their flights to avoid the storm.
The New York flight cancellations came after Delta canceled more than 580 flights over the weekend due to snow and ice that hit its hub in Minneapolis and other airports in the Midwest. Flights were temporarily suspended in Minneapolis on Saturday due to poor runway conditions.
