A firm specializing in dental benefits is expanding its offices in Roswell with plans to add 200 jobs, largely in customer services positions, according to a news release Wednesday by the city’s economic development arm.

Delta Dental Insurance Co. will lease the top two floors of the Stonebridge II building in the Sanctuary Park development in north Fulton County, the release said. The company said it has about 800 workers in Georgia today.

Delta already has space within the Sanctuary Park development. The new space falls within an Opportunity Zone, a state-designated redevelopment area with special incentives for companies that create new jobs, the release said.

Qualifying new jobs within Opportunity Zones can earn a $3,500 tax credit. If Delta creates 200 new eligible jobs, the credits could be valued at $3.5 million over five years, according to an Atlanta Journal-Constitution analysis of state incentives data.

Roswell Inc., the city’s economic development agency, said it started working on the project in February 2016. The company signed a seven-year lease.

“Anytime you add this many jobs to a local economy, it’s a big deal for the community, and we are thrilled to have Delta Dental expand its operations into Roswell,” Steve Stroud, executive director of Roswell Inc., said in the release.
