Delta cancels nearly 200 flights due to Hurricane Florence

Hurricane Florence is weakening as it moves farther inland over extreme southeastern North Carolina

Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines has canceled nearly 200 flights due to Hurricane Florence and is operating a reduced flight schedule.

Airports in Fayetteville, Jacksonville, New Bern and Wilmington, N.C. and Myrtle Beach, S.C. have been closed and could reopen this weekend depending on the status of facilities and infrastructure, according to Delta.

Dallas-based Southwest Airlines, the second-largest carrier at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, had canceled more than 260 flights due to the hurricane across its system by Wednesday evening.
