One of the safest homes in America is up for sale and it happens to be located in metro Atlanta.

The $14.7 million fortress known as the Rice House is still an active listing (with a slightly reduced selling price) and its status has earned it a mention right alongside other top ritzy real estate listings around the world including the last residential home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright -- the Norman Lykes House in Phoenix priced at $3.6 million-- and the $23 million home recently purchased by basketball player LeBron James in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The Rice House was built in 2010. The address isn't actually included on the listing since that would likely jeopardize the high-level security of the home, but Bloomberg has reported that it is located in Country Club of the South, a gated community in Alpharetta.

Listing broker, Paul Wegener, of Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International Realty, said in an interview with Bloomberg that the 36,000 square foot estate took six years and $30 million to build and was initially intended to serve as a family legacy but the entrepreneur who built The Rice House said his son decided he didn’t want to live there.

So the energy efficient eight bedroom, 14 bathroom, six partial bathroom, three kitchen home is up for grabs.

The home was built to the standards of global security expert Al Corbi and according to the listing features a self-sustaining water and power supply, thirty capacity car vault, art museum, infinity pool, bowling alley, gun range, game room, solarium, spa, theater, wine cellar and room, vault, command center, two commercial elevators and more.

Though the single-family home is mostly complete, it will require several million dollars in finishing touches from the new owners.
