YouTube has given "Step Up: High Water" a second season soon after doing the same with "Cobra Kai."

Both are shot in Atlanta. "Step Up" has not been as popular as "Cobra Kai" and its renewal took a bit longer but it's already in pre-production for season two.

Series regulars Naya Rivera and Faizon Love will return for the 10-episode second season of "Step Up" will shoot again in Atlanta this fall and debut on YouTube Premium in 2019.

YouTube said since its debut January 31, the first episode has been viewed 22 million times. It took "Cobra Kai" less than 10 days to reach that mark.

The series, based loosely on the films, focuses on several ambitious young dancers in a contemporary performing arts school in Atlanta.

As noted in the press release, dancers “Janelle” (Lauryn McClain) and “Tal” (Petrice Jones), are twins who are uprooted from suburban Ohio to live with their Uncle Al (Love). As the pair settle into their new home, new school, and new life they face big challenges. The cast of series regulars, all returning for a second season, include Marcus Mitchell as “Dondre,” Jade Chynoweth as “Odalie,” Carlito Olivero as “Davis,” Terrence Green as “Rigo,” Eric Graise as “King,” and Kendra Oyesanya as “Poppy.”

Singer Ne-Yo was in the first season. His name was not mentioned in the press release for the second season. I'm awaiting a publicist to confirm if he's departing.
