Comic Tracy Morgan, on a comeback stand-up tour this year after a vehicular accident almost killed him in 2014, has postponed his Atlanta September 23 concert at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre.
The venue released a statement which only said there "changes to Tracy Morgan's schedule" and a new date will be found in 2018. Ticket holders can receive refunds from point of purchase.
Morgan's career is back in gear after a tragic 2014 New Jersey accident that killed one of his best friends and left him severely injured. The Jonesboro driver, who was working for Wal-Mart, had fallen asleep at the wheel and later plead guilty to vehicular homicide and four counts of aggravated assault.
The actor and comic in 2016 began to do stand-up again and hosted "Saturday Night Live," where he was a cast member from 1996 to 2003.
He is now starring in new comedy "The Original O.G." on Atlanta-based TBS. It debuts October 24. The comedy follows Tray (Morgan), who just left 15 years of prison and has to acclimate to 2017, a gentrified Brooklyn neighborhood and an ex-girlfriend (Tiffany Haddish of "Girl Trip") raising kids he didn't know he had with another man. Cedric the Entertainer will play Miniard Mullins, head of the halfway house where Tray comes to stay after prison.
