Most of this extended episode focused on charity efforts by Porsha Williams, Cynthia Bailey and Kenya Moore to help out victims of Hurricane Harvey in Houston.
At first, it was all kumbaya, hugs and inspirational bromides. But Kenya created some friction among everyone involved, including friend of the show Shamea Morton, who joined in the charity work.
What was Kenya's sin? Being rude and dismissive, especially toward Shamea.
Shamea felt mistreated by Kenya at the Habitat site. Kenya was dismissive and snippy to say the least. "She made it look easy, she made it feel hard," Shamea complained.
Later at dinner, Kenya compounded the issue by being, well, rude and dismissive toward Shamea when she complained about Kenya's earlier treatment.
Kenya quickly became defensive: "Don't take it personal! We were working!"
"It's not about you," Kenya said to the cameras later. "It's about the people of Houston. It's not about your feelings."
When Shamea dared call her "mean," Kenya had enough. She got up from the table and went to the bathroom.
"There was time I would have lit Shamea up," she said. "I am a married woman and an entire new life." She felt "dragged in the mud." She believed every time she tried to do something positive, it would go south. (That did not happen, actually, at her recent domestic violence PSA.)
A producer tried to calm Kenya down but she wasn't having it, cursing up a storm and giving the cameras the finger.
Porsha over the years has occasionally helped out with her civil rights legend grand-daddy's Hosea Williams' Hosea's Feed the Hungry (which is now called Hosea Helps. She used the charity to send aid to Houston. Cynthia, in the meantime, held a benefit concert with gospel singer Ernest Pugh.
Both women felt uplifted by helping out.
Porsha still had a way about former best friend Shamea. Fortunately, they were able to sit on one on one and make up. Shamea seemed very sincere in her apologies and they were able to get over past hurts.
After Kenya Moore made it to Houston, Cynthia jumped on Kenya's event, not Porsha's second event. Porsha was hurt and later felt Cynthia didn't properly reciprocate. "She left me hanging," Porsha said.
"Porsha should be thankful anybody would come from the group," said Cynthia, which is true. (Sheree Whitfield would have come but her bad back, post car accident, prevented her from traveling.)
Even without Cynthia, Porsha made her event work, which drew so many people, they ran out of food. Porsha gets emotional. She fed 2,000 people. "I know my grandfather is looking down and he's proud of me."
Driving lessons: Kandi Burruss' daughter Riley turns 15 and she wants to learn how to drive pronto. Kandi is a nervous teacher. (And bulldog Georgia gets some airtime!) After Riley's dad Block calls, Riley starts to cry.
NeNe Leakes? She took the week off, though Sheree's imprisoned boyfriend Tyrone was none-too-pleased that NeNe was mouthing off about him.
