More than six years after joining Q100's Bert Show, host Kristin Klingshirn told the radio audience this morning that she has signed a new five-year contract.
Klingshirn took over in 2011 for Melissa Carter, who is now doing a daily podcast for Progressive Voices. The Kentucky native has established herself as a goofy, fun, dog-loving contributor to the show. She has had a long-term relationship that recently became a marriage. They chose nuptials since they are now planning to have children.
Lead host Bert Weiss, who created the show in 2001 when Q100 debuted, has changed out his entire crew over the years but has been able to keep solid ratings with smart casting choices. In October's Arbitron ratings, his show was No. 1 among 18 to 34 year olds and 25 to 54 year olds and No. 3 overall.
"So often a person's off-air persona doesn't match up on air," Weiss texted me today. "She's the real deal. Trustworthy, authentic, work ethic unmatched and the ultimate team player. I'm the lucky one she selected this show. And there's great comfort knowing she'll be here for the next five."
