Jasper singer Erin Kirby, 14, will be featured next Thursday on Steve Harvey's Fox variety show "Showtime at the Apollo" at 9 p.m.

Kirby has been performing professionally for several years and was featured in the reality show "Kim of Queens" on Lifetime when she was nine years old. She recently sang before 69,000 people at Supercross at Mercedes Benz Stadium and for the inauguration of Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms.

She considers her style pop-soul along the lines of Adele. She wouldn't mind when she's older to try out for other reality singing shows such as "The Voice," "America's Got Talent" and "American Idol."

Plus, Atlanta super vocal coach "Mama" Jan Smith - who has worked with everyone from Justin Bieber and Usher to Sugarland and Shania Twain - is part of her team. Erin plans to release new music the day the "Showtime at the Apollo" appearance happens on her website www.erinkirbymusic.com.

And with so many family members who have suffered from cancer, she takes part regularly in the Relay For Life cancer walk.

She sampled a bit of "Rise Up" by Andra Day during her Facebook Live interview with me at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution studios Friday:
