"Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives…"

Several cast members of the 50-year-old NBC soap opera "Days of Our Lives" will be in Woodstock on October 30 to sign books and take pictures with fans.

They will be at Elm Street Cultural Village in Woodstock at 6:30PM.

Cast members scheduled to be there: Galen Gering, Bill Hayes, Susan Hayes, Wally Kurth, Judi Evans, Bryan Dattilo, Martha Madison and Peter Reckell. Greg Meng, author of the book "Days of Our Lives: 50 Years" and executive producer will sign books as well and answer questions.

There are only a handful of traditional soap operas left on air and "Days of Our Lives" is a true survivor in an age where prime time "Scandal"-type dramas and reality TV have stolen the genre's thunder.

From the press release about the book:

Days of our Lives: 50 Years is an in-depth, photographic journey of the longest-running scripted program in NBC's history. This beautiful book showcases new and exciting views of a television icon that continues to bring the much loved world of Salem to its loyal viewers. Including rare black-and-white historical images and a wealth of full color photos, this is a spectacular journey highlighting iconic characters and beloved stories.
