CBS's 'MacGyver' starring Marietta's Lucas Till gets 2nd season

CBS has renewed a whopping 18 shows already for the 2017-18 season including "MacGyver," which is shot in Atlanta and stars Marietta's Lucas Till.

The show, a revival of the 1980s show which also stars "CSI" star George Eads, has been a steady presence on Friday nights, pulling in around 10 million viewers a week.

CBS remains the most watched network on TV even as overall viewership continues to fall across the board on broadcast television as well as cable. The 18 shows include the No. 1 drama on TV "NCIS" and No. 1 comedy "The Big Bang Theory." CBS also cleared four other newcomers "Kevin Can Wait," "Man With a Plan," "Superior Donuts" and "Bull." The rest that made the cut: "Blue Bloods," "Hawaii Five-O," "Life in Pieces," "Madam Secretary," "Mom," "NCIS: Los Angeles," "NCIS: New Orleans," "Scorpion," "Survivor," "60 Minutes" and "48 Hours."

Shows that have not been renewed and probably won't be: "Training Day" (which has not been helped by the unexpected death of Bill Paxton), "The Odd Couple," "Elementary," "The Great Indoors" and "Code Black." On the bubble: veteran drama "Criminal Minds," its spinoff "Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders" and long-running sitcom "2 Broke Girls."
