Jane Leeves ("Frasier," "Hot in Cleveland") will be joining Fox's "The Resident" for its second season as a regular, according to Deadline.com.
The medical procedural, shot and set in Atlanta, stars Matt Czuchry, Manish Dayal, Bruce Greenwood, Emily VanCamp and Shaunette Renée Wilson.
Departing are Moran Atias ("Tyrant"), Merrin Dungey ("Once Upon a Time") and Melina Kanakaredes ("Providence," "CSI: NY").
Malcolm Jamal-Warner ("The Cosby Show") and Glenn Morshowe ("Bloodline") have been promoted to series regulars from recurring.
Leeves will play Dr. Kitt Voss, an orthopedic surgeon who will mentor the residents. Campbell’s character Randolph Bell, CEO of the fictional Chastain Park Memorial Hospital, will have romantic aspirations for her. She will also butt heads with larger-than-life cardio-thoracic surgeon AJ Austin (Warner).

"Dateline NBC" will focus on the Tex McIver case Friday night at 10 p.m.
The telecast will feature interviews with Dani Jo Carter, a key witness in the trial, and Dixie Martin, Tex's sister. McIver said he accidentally killed his wife but a jury recently convicted him of felony murder. A judge sentenced him to life in prison.
Carter recently told Channel 2 Action News that the verdict was fair. "He certainly doesn't need to be out. I think he needs to be in hell," she said.

Also on Friday night, HBO’s “Vice” looks into the kids of undocumented parents and visits Atlanta for a segment.
Vice correspondent Krishan Andavolu embedded himself with ICE in Atlanta and covered a raid. The episode airs at 7:30 p.m. Friday and again at 11 p.m. Here's a sample:

A friend of mine Archith Seshadri, a former CNN reporter who recently spent two years anchoring an English language anchor in India, will be on ABC's "$100,000 Pyramid" this Sunday at 9 p.m.
The celebrity guests for his episode are Questlove of the Roots and Snoop Dogg. Given that this game show is based on speed, the fundamentally laid-back Snoop Dogg seems distinctly unsuited for this game. (He appeared last year as well and boy, was he sloooow.)
Seshadri, who is currently freelancing and has aspirations to be a game-show host himself, admitted that he knows very little about hip hop and hoped going into the taping last month that this wouldn’t hamper him too much.

Channel 2 Action News, the market ratings leader, took home eight Emmys this past weekend including best morning newscast, best weather newscast, breaking news and best newscast in a major market.
The station on Tuesday also won an Edward R. Murrow Award for best newscast covering the I-85 interstate collapse.
Brendon Keefe, an 11Alive investigative reporter, collected 12 Emmys, breaking his previous record of 11 the past two years.
The journalist has collected a whopping 89 Emmys over his entire career and 38 with 11Alive over four years.
When he picked up an Emmy for best investigative journalist near the end of the night, he channeled Louis Armstrong and sang "What a Wonderful World" with the live band accompaniment.
“It’s not about winning awards,” Keefe said in a text after the show. “For me, it’s about always striving to get my personal best year after year. I’ll be 50 this year. I’d like to think I still have many years of innovation ahead of me.”
Overall, 11Alive pocketed 28 Emmys, matching its 2016 total and just shy of 31 last year.
CBS46 had its best Emmy night ever, collecting 11 Emmys, up from three in 2017. Adam Murphy, one of the veterans at the station, won five. CBS reporter Adam Harding, after accepting one, jokingly uttered, "How the hell did I beat Brendan Keefe?"
Over the years, Fox 5 has not aggressively pursued Emmys. They had 12 nominations this year and came home with none. (Last year they got two.)
Univision Atlanta took home 15 (vs. 17 last year) while Telemundo Atlanta won five (vs. 13 last year).
Georgia Public Broadcasting pocketed four, down from 15 a year ago.
The Governors Award went to four key figures who helped create the sweetened production tax credits that turned Georgia into Hollywood of the South 10 years ago: casting agent Shay Bentley-Griffin, actor Wilbur Fitzgerald, actor and SAG-AFTRA Atlanta President Ric Reitz and SAG-AFTRA Executive Director Melissa Goodman.
