Fox's Atlanta-based and produced "Star" opened with decent overnight numbers Wednesday, pulling in 6.7 million viewers and a 2.2 rating 18-49. It held a solid percentage of the "Empire" lead in.

The drama suffered poor critical reviews. We'll see if the viewers who watched the first episode will stick around when episode two airs January 4.

Atlanta-based TBS has renewed all six of its original scripted comedies. This is not only the most comedies TBS has ever had at once but it shows the network is finally finding its voice when it comes to originals after years of struggles.

The shows are "People of Earth," "Search Party," "Angie Tribeca," "Full Frontal With Samantha Bee," "The Detour" and "Wrecked."
