Liberal talk show host Bill Maher on his HBO show Friday night pledged his love for the Atlanta Falcons by whipping out a Matt Ryan jersey and waving it.

Sincere? Not really. It was semi-sarcastic. He is pro Falcons this Sunday merely because he wants them to beat the New England Patriots. And since this is Maher, it's 100 percent political. The Patriots owner, coach and quarterback support Donald Trump. That's all that matters to Maher, who even mocks himself for feeling this way.

"For the first time in a long time, I really care who wins the Super Bowl," he said. "I have a fierce love of the Atlanta Falcons because I'm from Atlanta," he said. "Oh wait, I"m from New Jersey. I could give a s*** about Atlanta." But since they are playing the Patriots, "I'd really like them to lose by a score of a million f***king thousand to one."

Trump "made me love the Atlanta Falcons. That's like saying your favorite boxer is Mickey Rourke. It's like saying your favorite singer is Ryan Gosling. He can't sing!"

The bigger point is that politics has seeped into everything. He notes that parents now increasingly want their kids to marry someone of the same political persuasion. "For liberals, bringing home a Republican is the new 'Guess Who's Coming to Dinner.' Only it's more like 'Guess Who's Coiming to Dinner' and spending the whole dinner bitching about Mexicans."

Here's the video, which (warning!) includes lots and lots of curse words. "I used to be pretty eloquent," he joked. "Now I'm screaming f*** you!"
