Metro Atlanta has featured plenty of great vocal talent on shows like "The Voice" and "American Idol" over the years. But not so much on "America's Got Talent" - until this season. A third singing act from the area made it past the first round during tonight's fifth audition episode following quirky clown Puddles Pity Party and 9-year-old Johns Creek phenom Angelica Hale .
A handsome R&B quartet Final Draft, clad in leather jackets, performed James Brown's "It's a Man's Man's Man's World." They have been together six years. "We don't just sing together, we live together," one of the singers said. (Their names were not given though on Facebook, they have the following stage names: Dnyce, Lucky, Voice, and Divine. I'm told Voice is the lead guy.)
From the first note, the crowd was into it. Three brought harmonies while the tenor lead singer led the way, followed by a soprano to balance him off near the end. The judges looked rapt. Howie Mandel gave them a standing ovation at the song's conclusion.
Mel B: "What you got you can't teach somebody. You have that inside you and it jumps out that stage. You have something really really special. Trust me!"
Heidi Klum: "Fantastic."
Howie: "I feel like you want to come here because it's your life... You life will never be the same after tonight.
Simon Cowell: "I think it was a great great audition. I saw this real passion, this real ambition. You have absolute talent. You have real chemistry. I feel there's a real shot with you."
